Job Title: C&Q Project Manager - Pharmaceutical Utilities & Process Engineering
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Contract: 12+ months, multi-year project; W2/1099/C2C - $115-$125/hr plus expenses

A rare chance to lead from the front. This is a hands-on leadership seat for a veteran pharmaceutical engineering leader who wants to own outcomes, set the standard for quality and safety, and represent the team at the leadership table, while still being out in the field with the people they lead.

This individual will be responsible for owning the plan, the deliverable forecast and the staffing curve for the workstream. The person selected for this role must be very organized, managed resources before and schedules. They should be able to track protocol authoring, execution and closeout against that forecast, and flag slippage early. Additionally they will be responsible for issuing a weekly status report and keep the action, risk, issue, decision and change logs.

What You Bring (Required)

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
  • 12+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience (15+ preferred)
  • 5+ years as an engineering manager or higher, with true leadership-level tenure rather than senior individual-contributor experience alone
  • Able and willing to work in Kneat Gx.
  • Working knowledge across commissioning, equipment and utility qualification, cleaning, sterilisation and computerised systems validation.
  • Experience running deliverable forecasts and resource plans on a capital or shutdown project.
  • Familiar with change control and document systems such as TrackWise or Veeva.

Who You Are

  • Self-driven and decisive: you don't wait to be told what to do and you own your outcomes
  • A leader who drives a team forward and leads with genuine care, not just authority
  • Someone who sets the tone for doing things right the first time, with patient safety and team safety as non-negotiable priorities

What You'll Do

  • Lead the C&Q team's workload to completion, driving execution rather than just overseeing it
  • Create documentation and perform system walkdowns in the field alongside your team
  • Serve as the SME for pharmaceutical utilities and process engineering
  • Represent the team in leadership-level discussions and lead negotiations with vendors, other departments, and cross-functional teams
  • Prior new product introduction into an operating biologics facility
  • Experience working a plant shutdown, including shift and weekend coverage
  • Experience where several validation suppliers share one site

Why You'll Want This Role

  • A true lead-from-the-front role: direct a team and do the work alongside them
  • Real ownership and visibility, with a voice in leadership-level discussions
  • The authority to lead vendor and cross-functional negotiations
  • Be the utilities and process engineering SME that others rely on
  • A culture where patient safety, team safety, and getting it right the first time come first
