About the Role

As our R&D Business Applications Engineer, you'll lead the planning and delivery of digital solutions that power our R&D business and engineering processes. You'll partner with R&D stakeholders to understand what they need, translate their workflows into clear system requirements, and work with IT and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions.

This role blends project management, product ownership, business analysis, and systems expertise. You'll own the journey end to end, from the initial business need through requirements, design, testing, implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

Lead business application projects

  • Drive cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation and adoption
  • Own scope, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource needs
  • Manage multiple initiatives and enhancements at once, balancing business priorities, user needs, and timelines
  • Set up clear governance, decision points, ownership, and escalation paths
  • Keep stakeholders and leadership informed on status, risks, milestones, and key decisions

Shape requirements and solutions

  • Partner with R&D teams to understand current workflows, pain points, and opportunities for improvement

Bridge business and IT

  • Serve as the primary link between R&D stakeholders and IT throughout the solution lifecycle

Own the product vision and roadmap

  • Help define product vision, priorities, and roadmaps aligned with R&D business objectives

Test, implement, and drive adoption

  • Develop business acceptance criteria and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new systems and enhancements

Use data to improve

  • Define the data and reporting requirements that support business decision-making

What You'll Bring

Must have

  • Medical device R&D project management experience (5-7 years in R&D and/or project management; senior-level R&D Project Manager or R&D Engineer background)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external
  • Strong organizational skills across project management, including scope definition, budgeting, and contingency planning
  • Initiative and follow-through: you overcome obstacles and balance competing priorities, backed by solid technical and/or project leadership experience
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice to have

  • Project management experience with R&D business applications, especially Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools
