Contract Scientist, Regenerative Aesthetics
Job Title: Contract Scientist, Regenerative Aesthetics (Global Medical Affairs)
Location: Raleigh, NC
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Employment Type: Contract

About the Role
We are looking for a Contract Scientist to join a Global Medical Affairs team supporting evidence-generation programs across regenerative aesthetics, biomaterials, soft tissue regeneration, injectables, and skin quality research.

This role sits at the intersection of bench science and scientific communication. You will independently manage defined research workstreams, from study design through data interpretation to publication-ready output. A strong fit combines deep biological and biomaterials expertise with sharp quantitative skills and the ability to translate complex findings into clear, rigorous scientific narratives.

Why This Opportunity

  • Work on evidence-generation programs for a global team in the fast-growing regenerative aesthetics space
  • Own defined research workstreams end to end, with real independence and minimal supervision
  • Work across preclinical, translational, and clinical data in a single role
  • Direct visibility to Medical Affairs strategy, external investigators, and research partners
  • Build a publication record through manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress presentations

What You'll Do
Research & Study Support

  • Contribute to the design, planning, and scientific oversight of preclinical, translational, and clinical research projects
  • Develop study protocols, research plans, and scientific documentation
  • Coordinate with CROs, laboratories, investigators, and internal and external research partners
  • Manage project timelines, data workflows, and study milestones for assigned workstreams

Data Analysis & Interpretation

  • Analyze and interpret preclinical, translational, and clinical datasets
  • Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses
  • Integrate findings across histology, imaging, biomarkers, clinical endpoints, and published literature
  • Build publication-quality figures, tables, and scientific presentations
  • Translate complex findings into scientifically rigorous, actionable conclusions

Histology, Digital Pathology & Biological Assessments

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative histological and digital pathology analyses
  • Evaluate tissue responses related to regeneration, ECM remodeling, inflammation, fibrosis, foreign-body response, vascularity, and cellularity
  • Develop and apply reproducible image-analysis workflows for quantitative tissue assessment
  • Integrate histological findings with imaging, clinical, and biomarker data to support mechanism-of-action interpretation

Scientific Communications

  • Develop scientific slide decks, executive summaries, education materials, and technical reports
  • Draft and revise manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress presentations
  • Conduct structured literature searches and evidence reviews; build evidence tables and summaries
  • Critically evaluate published evidence for methodological quality and relevance

Medical Affairs & Evidence Support

  • Support evidence-generation activities aligned with Global Medical Affairs strategy
  • Develop scientific summaries and evidence packages for internal stakeholders and regulatory inquiries
  • Identify and evaluate new analytical methods, biomarkers, and techniques relevant to regenerative aesthetics

What You'll Bring (Required)

  • Ph.D. in regenerative medicine, biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, biomaterials, skin biology, cell biology, molecular biology, pathology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related biomedical discipline
  • Demonstrated experience conducting independent scientific research; this role runs with minimal supervision
  • Scientific research, writing, and publication experience, including rigorous written scientific output beyond lab work
  • Experience analyzing preclinical, translational, and clinical research data (all three data types, not just one)
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and interpretation

Nice to Have

  • Direct experience in regenerative medicine, wound healing, tissue engineering, dermatology, aesthetics, or biomaterials research
  • Expertise in histology, immunohistochemistry, digital pathology, quantitative image analysis, or morphometry
  • Experience with analytical software such as GraphPad Prism, R, Python, SPSS, SAS, ImageJ/Fiji, or QuPath
