Job Title: Construction Quality Lead
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Work Arrangement: 100% on-site, 5 days per week (40+ hours/week). No remote option.

About the Role
We are seeking a Construction Quality Lead to serve as the independent construction quality authority on a major capital pharmaceutical project. This is a quality verification role, not a construction management role. You will not direct means, methods, or sequencing. You will be the person in the field confirming that what is being built matches approved drawings, specifications, and GMP requirements, with the authority to flag issues before they become costly problems.

You will work across every discipline on site (civil/structural/architectural, mechanical, piping, HVAC, electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment). You will be the primary quality interface between construction teams, engineering, CQV, contractor quality teams, and client quality representatives.

What You'll Do
Field Quality Oversight

  • Provide independent construction quality verification across all disciplines on site
  • Confirm installed systems align with approved IFC design documentation, technical specs, validated submittals, and GMP/regulatory standards
  • Witness selected inspections and testing activities to confirm compliance

Non-Conformance & Risk Management

  • Identify, document, and escalate construction quality issues or compliance risks that could affect system integrity, regulatory compliance, or turnover readiness
  • Maintain detailed records of field quality observations and communicate findings to project leadership

Documentation & Readiness

  • Verify contractor quality inspections and documentation are completed per approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Review contractor inspection records, test reports, and turnover documentation for completeness and traceability
  • Support Mechanical Completion readiness by confirming required inspections and quality documentation are complete
  • Support system walkdowns, readiness reviews, and punch list verification

Collaboration

  • Participate in construction coordination meetings, representing quality observations and risks
  • Operate within a clear governance model: the Main Contractor executes construction, Construction System Owners provide technical oversight, and you independently verify compliance

What You'll Bring (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of construction quality oversight on large capital projects. This is a field-based construction quality authority role, not general QA/QC
  • Strong understanding of GMP construction environments and regulatory compliance. This is a compliance-authority role, not solely technical oversight
  • Hands-on experience with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), non-conformance management, and quality documentation programs
  • Ability to work on-site 5 days per week, 40+ hours per week

Nice to Have

  • Pharmaceutical / GMP-regulated industry experience (preferred)
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, NFPA, and ISO
  • Experience supporting Mechanical Completion, commissioning readiness, and turnover documentation
