This is a high-visibility opportunity to lead a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing capital project through its most critical phases.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience managing pharmaceutical or life sciences facility expansions from equipment delivery through facility handover, serving as the central point of coordination across construction, engineering, validation, quality, CQV, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead execution of a large-scale parenteral pre-filled syringe manufacturing expansion project
- Oversee equipment arrival, installation planning, and coordination across multiple functional groups
- Manage construction-related activities associated with equipment integration and facility completion
- Develop and drive project sequencing and execution plans to support successful startup
- Coordinate operational readiness activities to ensure manufacturing teams are prepared for facility turnover
- Partner closely with Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) teams to support facility and equipment qualification efforts
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, quality, validation, and design teams to meet project objectives
- Monitor project schedules, identify risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies
- Lead cross-functional project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders and leadership
- Ensure successful transition and handover of the facility from project execution to site operations
- Drive accountability across all project workstreams while maintaining timeline commitments and deliverables
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred
- 10+ years of project management experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences capital projects
- Proven leadership experience managing large-scale site expansions and manufacturing facility builds
- Demonstrated success overseeing projects through construction, startup, commissioning, qualification, operational readiness, and facility turnover
- Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing environments
- Experience working directly with validation, operations, construction management, design/engineering, quality, and CQV/qualification teams
- Ability to drive complex timelines and coordinate multiple stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting parenteral or sterile injectable manufacturing facilities
- Experience with pre-filled syringe manufacturing operations
- Prior involvement in projects exceeding $100 million in capital investment
- Demonstrated success leading facility startup and operational readiness programs
Why This Role
- Lead a $200M+ capital expansion - one of the larger active projects of its kind in the region
- Step into a facility at a pivotal phase: construction complete, transitioning into startup and qualification
- High-visibility role with direct exposure to senior site and project leadership
- Long-term engagement with strong potential for extension
Ideal Candidate
A seasoned pharmaceutical capital project leader who has successfully delivered manufacturing expansion projects and understands the challenges of bringing a facility from construction completion through qualification and operational handoff - someone who has genuinely led major facility startup and expansion efforts before.
