About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our New Product Planning Group, focusing on competitive intelligence (CI) and commercial assessment of pipeline and external opportunities. This individual will serve as the organization's central resource for competitive landscape insight, partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders to shape strategic decision-making around pipeline programs and business development opportunities.
This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong pharma industry experience who thrives on synthesizing complex market dynamics into clear, actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct commercial assessments of new targets to inform business development and portfolio strategy
- Lead core competitive intelligence initiatives, including congress coverage, cross-functional workshops, and ongoing monitoring of competitive developments
- Develop and own forward-looking CI perspectives for pipeline programs, acting as the central source of insight on competitive landscape and future market dynamics
- Maintain and regularly update competitive profiles, including product positioning, development timelines, and anticipated launch sequencing
- Partner with external agencies to design and execute competitive intelligence projects
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience required
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in competitive intelligence, commercial assessment, or related strategic functions
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate complex data into strategic recommendations
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing external vendor/agency relationships is a plus
