Lead Technical Analyst - Tax

Fully remote.

About the Role

The Lead Technical Analyst - Tax drives innovation in tax-related processes and technology, integrating tax systems with business processes and leading enterprise-wide application support (SaaS, Oracle, and boundary systems) for tax implementations, compliance reporting, and eInvoicing. This role owns application configuration, data accuracy, custom reporting, and team leadership - including training, user access, and cross-functional/vendor coordination - while advising leadership on system strategy and risk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead configuration, setup, and ongoing support of SaaS and enterprise-wide applications
  • Ensure data quality, accurate data loading, and sound governance for data input/storage
  • Build reports and custom queries to deliver strategic business insights
  • Lead and mentor the team handling user training and access management
  • Advise on application development, maintenance, and system standards
  • Represent Enterprise Applications in cross-functional integration efforts
  • Liaise with client stakeholders and external vendors to support enterprise systems

Education

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or 9+ years' equivalent experience)
  • Preferred: Master's in Accounting, Tax, CS, or related field + 7 years implementing tax technologies; ITIL/Microsoft/Oracle-ONESOURCE certifications

Experience

  • 6+ years in enterprise-wide software support, including SDLC methodology, application configuration, and SaaS/enterprise systems management
  • 6+ years in a leadership role, including team and database oversight
  • Experience with security design principles, custom query/report development, and data quality management
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-team/vendor collaboration skills

Preferred:

  • ERP + indirect tax vendor implementation experience (ONESOURCE, Corptax, Vertex, Avalara, Longview), ideally international
  • Tax accounting knowledge and experience modernizing tax operations (batch/real-time, digital document storage, audit compliance)
  • Oracle Cloud (RAPID) and Lean specification writing
  • Familiarity with SaaS/PaaS/cloud/API-driven tax technology, RPA, and AI foundations
  • Strong business writing, requirements-gathering, and time management skills
