The Manufacturing Inventory & Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory control, uninterrupted manufacturing material availability, and efficient warehouse operations across multiple company and customer locations

This role owns inventory planning, min/max management, cycle counts, material replenishment, warehouse logistics, receiving, shipping, and customer inventory replenishment programs. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Customer Success teams to ensure materials and finished goods are available at the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantities

The position is critical to supporting customer success, and manufacturing scalability while maintaining inventory accuracy, reducing stockouts, and minimizing excess inventory

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory Planning & Control

  • Maintain accuracy of inventory records within ERP and inventory management systems
  • Work with Purchasing and Operations to manage min/max inventory levels for all raw materials, subassemblies, consumables, and finished goods
  • Monitor inventory trends and forecast future requirements
  • Help establish inventory replenishment strategies to support production schedules
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Track inventory turns and excess inventory levels
  • Provide timely inventory and KPI reporting

Manufacturing Inventory Management

  • Ensure adequate materials are available to support production schedules.
  • Coordinate material availability with manufacturing and purchasing teams.
  • Monitor work-in-process inventory.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to track and monitor quarantined inventory
  • Support production planning and material requirements planning (MRP).
  • Manage inventory transactions, transfers, adjustments, and scrap reporting.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and product launch inventory readiness.

Cycle Counts & Physical Inventory

  • Manage and execute cycle count programs.
  • Schedule and conduct regular physical inventory counts.
  • Analyze inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy goals of 98% or greater.
  • Coordinate and conduct periodic ABC physical inventories with Finance.

Warehouse Operations

  • Manage receiving, storage, shipping, and inventory and asset movement activities.
  • Ensure inventory organization, storage labeling, cleanliness, and material traceability.
  • Provide recommendations for warehouse layouts and storage utilization.
  • Implement inventory labeling and identification procedures.
  • Ensure FIFO and lot control procedures are followed.
  • Support shipping and fulfillment requirements.

Multi-Location Inventory Management

  • Maintain inventory visibility across multiple warehouse locations and storage locations.
  • Coordinate transfers between facilities.
  • Monitor inventory balances by location.
  • Work with Finance to ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation across all sites.
  • Support third-party logistics (3PL) relationships when applicable.

Customer Inventory Replenishment Programs

  • Manage customer inventory stocking and replenishment programs.
  • Monitor customer inventory consumption trends.
  • Follow automated replenishment requirements based on usage data.
  • Coordinate customer order planning and proactive replenishment.
  • Work with Customer Success teams to minimize customer stockouts.
  • Generate replenishment and inventory status reports for customers.

ERP & Data Management

  • Work with Finance to maintain inventory master data and item attributes.
  • Ensure BOM and inventory information remain current and accurate.
  • Create inventory reports, dashboards, and KPI metrics.
  • Support ERP process improvements and inventory automation initiatives.

  • Inventory Accuracy ≥ 98%
  • Cycle Count Completion Rate ≥ 95%
  • Manufacturing Stockout Rate < 1%
  • Inventory Turns Improvement
  • On-Time Customer Replenishment ≥ 99%
  • Warehouse Order Accuracy ≥ 99%
  • Excess and Obsolete Inventory Reduction
  • Multi-Site Inventory Reconciliation Accuracy

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of inventory management, warehouse operations, or manufacturing operations experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of inventory control methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience establishing and managing min/max inventory levels.
  • Experience performing cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device, life science, diagnostics, or regulated manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
  • APICS/ASCM certification.
  • Multi-site inventory management experience.
  • Customer-managed inventory (CMI) or vendor-managed inventory (VMI) experience.
  • Experience implementing automated replenishment systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout warehouse and manufacturing areas.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment after training.
  • Occasional travel between company and customer locations.
