We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong Go/Golang development experience to help build scalable data platforms, APIs, and cloud-native solutions that power next-generation agricultural technologies.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a senior contributor on a high-performing data engineering team
• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed data systems and services
• Build and support data-intensive RESTful APIs
• Develop cloud-native solutions for processing and analyzing massive datasets
• Work with modern data streaming technologies, including Apache Kafka
• Apply software engineering best practices, including unit testing and TDD methodologies
• Design and optimize data models across relational and NoSQL databases
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that best fit business and technical requirements
• Contribute hands-on to development efforts while providing technical leadership through expertise and innovation

Required Qualifications

✅ 5+ years of professional software engineering experience

✅ 2+ years of hands-on Go/Golang development experience

✅ Proven experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs

✅ Strong SQL skills and experience building data platforms and services

✅ Experience with Apache Kafka or similar stream-processing technologies

✅ Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker

✅ Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

✅ Experience with large-scale relational and/or NoSQL database design and data modeling

✅ Strong understanding of unit testing and software development best practices

✅ Ability to clearly explain technical concepts and demonstrate meaningful personal contributions to projects

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

⭐ Apache Beam and/or Google Cloud Dataflow

⭐ Kubernetes or Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)

⭐ Protocol Buffers and gRPC

⭐ Experience working with scientific or research datasets
