Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and routine part inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
- Verify that materials, equipment, processes, and finished products meet quality standards and specifications
- Develop, validate, and improve inspection and test methods; contribute to SOPs and inspection protocols
- Monitor, analyze, and report on product quality metrics to support data-driven decisions
- Support compliance with industry standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485) and regulatory requirements through audits and gap analysis
- Assist in implementing process controls, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Investigate and resolve product and production issues through root cause analysis
- Issue non-conformance reports and support MRB disposition and corrective action processes
- Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards across operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations teams to meet production goals
- Work independently and manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience performing dimensional and visual inspections in a manufacturing environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Extensive knowledge of GD&T principles
- Experience with First Article Inspections (FAI), test method validation, and inspection method development
- Proficiency with AQL sampling techniques
- Experience in root cause analysis, data analysis, and troubleshooting
- Background in aerospace, medical device, or defense manufacturing required
- Hands-on experience with advanced inspection equipment such as CMMs, PCMMs, vision systems, profilometers, and 3D scanning technologies (e.g., Zeiss, Faro, Keyence)
- Ability to troubleshoot inspection equipment issues
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
Additional Details
- Multiple shift options available (weekday and weekend; day and night schedules)
- Must be able to complete initial training on first shift
- Strong potential for extension and long-term conversion
