SAS Technical IT Expert
We are seeking an experienced SAS Technical IT Expert to support and enhance enterprise SAS analytics environments. This individual will lead the configuration, administration, and ongoing optimization of SAS platforms that enable business intelligence, advanced analytics, grid computing, and regulated reporting.
Location: Hybrid - Nutley, NJ (Onsite Tuesday-Thursday)
Duration: 12+ months (long-term contract)
Required Skills & Technical Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
* 5+ years of experience supporting SAS platforms within an enterprise environment
* SAS certifications (e.g., SAS Certified Advanced Programmer) are a plus
* Experience integrating SAS with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
* Cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) preferred
Core Responsibilities
SAS Platform Administration
* Deploy, configure, upgrade, and support SAS platforms including SAS 9.x and SAS Viya
* Administer SAS environments across development, testing, and production
* Monitor platform health and performance and proactively identify and resolve system issues
Infrastructure & Environment Integration
* Integrate SAS platforms with enterprise data sources and databases
* Collaborate with infrastructure teams on OS, storage, virtualization, and cloud-based deployments
* Support grid computing architectures and disaster recovery implementations
Security, Governance & Compliance
* Administer authentication, authorization, user roles, and metadata
* Ensure systems align with internal IT standards and regulatory requirements
* Participate in audits and maintain required technical documentation
Operations & Automation
* Develop, manage, and maintain batch processing and job scheduling
* Troubleshoot SAS jobs, logs, and performance bottlenecks
* Create and maintain SOPs and operational support documentation
User & Application Support
* Provide advanced technical support to SAS users and analytics teams
* Partner with data scientists and analysts on reports, models, and deployments
* Guide best practices for SAS platform usage and optimization
Platform Enhancement & Continuous Improvement
* Evaluate and implement SAS patches, upgrades, and new platform capabilities
* Recommend infrastructure and platform improvements
* Contribute to long-term analytics and technology roadmaps
