We have a very exciting opportunity to join a cutting edge medical device research and manufacturing team. We are looking for an Electromechanical Controls Engineer (Bioreactor / Organ‑on‑Bench Systems) to help in medical device testing research.

This position is a contract to hire position fully onsite in Cincinnati, OH. Contract rate at $75-90/hr. US Citizens or Permanent Residents only.

Must Haves:

  1. PhD in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or related) with a strong academic/research background and limited industry experience acceptable OR Masters and equivalent experience
  2. Electromechanical engineering expertise with hands‑on experience in measurement, sensing, and closed‑loop control systems (temperature, pressure, pH, etc.)
  3. Controls and algorithm development experience, including automatic feedback control to maintain setpoints (LabVIEW strongly preferred; MATLAB also acceptable


Key Focuses:

  • Design and support the build of electromechanical equipment used to maintain living organs or tissue in controlled benchtop environments
  • Develop and implement closed‑loop control algorithms to regulate systems
  • Integrate sensors, motors, wiring, and control hardware into complete working systems
  • Write and maintain control software
  • Support test and measurement systems, validating performance against desired parameters and setpoints


Nice to Have:

  • Experience or familiarity with:
  • Bioreactor design
  • Organ‑on‑chip or organ‑support systems
  • Artificial heart or cardiac device development
  • Smart master systems or advanced instrumentation platforms
  • Prior academic or published research
