QC Engineer

Location: Devens, MA (Onsite) Duration: 6 months (Probable Extension) Reports to: Quality Control Manager

Overview

The QC Engineer plays a key role in strengthening data integrity, process control, and operational efficiency within the ERP environment. This position supports both Quality and Operations teams by investigating aging work‑in‑progress (WIP) jobs, resolving discrepancies, and implementing sustainable process improvements that align with quality system and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze aging WIP jobs within the ERP system to identify root causes of delays, inaccuracies, or data gaps

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams-including Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, and Engineering-to resolve WIP discrepancies and ensure timely job closure

  • Close work orders and associated documentation in compliance with internal quality systems and applicable regulatory standards

  • Verify that all records are complete, accurate, and audit‑ready

  • Identify process weaknesses contributing to WIP aging or data inconsistencies and recommend corrective actions

  • Develop and implement logistical and procedural controls to prevent recurrence of identified issues

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on ERP data integrity, workflow optimization, and operational efficiency

  • Assist with internal audits and provide documentation support as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience in a manufacturing or regulated industry (e.g., medical device, aerospace, pharmaceutical)

  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, or similar)

  • Understanding of quality systems and documentation requirements (ISO, FDA, GMP)

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities

  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CAPA, root cause analysis, and process improvement methodologies

  • Prior experience resolving WIP or inventory discrepancies
