Cell Culture Biologist - POSH Platform
SRG, the leader in the Life Sciences human capital industry, is looking for a Cell Culture Scientist - POSH Platform consultant to join our client's pharmaceutical development team in South San Francisco. This is a Cell Culture Biologist with Automation experience.
Onsite: South San Francisco
Contract: 1 year plus extension
The Scientist I - POSH Platform candidate will serve as a technical contributor supporting automation initiatives within the POSH platform. This role requires a production-minded scientist with a strong engineering foundation and deep hands-on cell culture experience. The ideal candidate brings expertise in automation systems, thrives in highly organized environments, and effectively partners with cross-functional teams, including the LIMS integration team.
This is somewhat of a cross between a biologist and an automation engineer. This person needs to understand the science but also have an understanding in automation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Cell Culture Biologist with Automation experience
- Strong background in engineering principles and automation platforms
- Hands-on experience with a broad range of cell culture systems
- Demonstrated bench experience in cell culture biology
- Experience with laboratory automation systems
- Familiarity with microscopy and molecular biology techniques
- Volume and project-based mindset vs research
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience working with the POSH platform
- Experience collaborating with LIMS integration teams
- Automation-focused project management experience - Hamilton Vantage
- Experience with Recursion (competitor) platform or tools (highly desirable)
- Experience in production-scale or high-throughput environments
- Microscopy would be great - specifically confocal microscopy with a flavor of automation
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in laboratory automation systems supporting the POSH platform
- Support high-throughput and heavy cell culture workflows across diverse cell culture systems
- Design, execute, and optimize automated cell culture processes
- Apply bench-level expertise in cell culture biology with a focus on automation integration
- Collaborate closely with the LIMS integration team to ensure seamless automation workflows
- Utilize microscopy and molecular biology techniques as part of automated workflows
- Lead or contribute to automation-focused projects with strong project management discipline
- Proactively manage upward communication; come to meetings prepared and organized
- Support production-focused objectives in a fast-paced platform environment
