SRG, the leader in the Life Sciences human capital industry, is looking for a Scientist/Sr Scientist consultant to join our client's pharmaceutical development team in South San Francisco. The right candidate will have an MS or PhD and a strong background in Metabolic Disease.

Onsite: South San Francisco

Contract: 1 year plus extension

This Scientist position will oversee the lab and the work of the associates. They will report into Principal scientist and will be looked at to ensure programs are moving ahead smoothly. Metabolic experience is required.

Currently this work focuses on liver and obesity. You will focus on building assays to support these studies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• MS or PhD plus 3-7 years of experience
• Mammalian Cells NOT bacterial
• Complex Primary Cell Culture
• Metabolic background (Adiposity/Obesity/Kidney/insulin/liver)
• Obesity biology
• Microscopy (Columbus/Opera phenix)
• Cell Staining, IPSC, Western Blots, ELISAS, HTRFs, Absorbance Readouts, qPCR
• Diverse technical skills
• GLP experience in small to mid-size biotech or pharma company

Responsibilities:

• Role will be 80% lab 20% office
• Building assays to support studies
• Documentation will be out of the lab
• Bench notes according to good laboratory practices (GLP)
• Overseeing the lab and the work of the associates
