Site Project Manager - Utility Systems - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
We are seeking a site expansion Project Manager specializing in Utility Systems to join out team. This role will focus on contract development and commissioning leadership with Utility Systems from design handover through PV and operational go-live.
This is an amazing opportunity to join a pharmaceutical company in its site expansion project from the ground up over the next 5 years.
Long term contract 1-5 years, rate negotiable.
KEY EXPERIENCE:
- Contract development and design
- Partnership with EPCM firms (not directing but advising and communicating)
- Transfer role down the road to system ownership (utilities)
- Turnover strategy
- Pharma experience (does NOT need green/brownfield)
- *This role will be less focused on budget and timeline, and more focused on contract development and system ownership*
Core Responsibilities
- Own commissioning readiness for dozens of systems from design handover through PV and operational go-live.
- Shape design deliverables and contracting packages; manage scope, interfaces, and contract commitments.
- Build and manage system-level schedules, track component readiness, and coordinate utilities availability and staged start-ups (e.g., solvents introduction, power-up).
- Lead through influence with EPCM/CM: clearly set priorities, surface blockers, and collaborate without directing craft labor.
- Drive documentation, verification, and turnover artifacts consistent with pharma expectations.
Required Experience
- Proven commissioning leadership across multiple concurrent systems.
- Design/contracting background with contract management experience.
- Some electrical systems experience would be helpful, but not required
- Pharma or closely related regulated environment experience; strong documentation rigor (paperwork matters).
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to process pharma plus building support utilities (HVAC, steam, water).
- Familiarity with mechanical/electrical spaces and ability to consolidate electrical scopes when advantageous.
- Pharma experience prioritized
