Chemical Engineer - Onsite in Kansas City

Local Candidates Only | 6-Month Contract (Possible Extension) | Full-Time

About the Role

This position supports multiple process operations teams by clearing a backlog of action items, updating documentation, and implementing improvement projects. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, tackle technical challenges, and contribute to long-term reliability and training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advance technical resolution for outstanding PHA, MOC, optimization, and other action items.
  • Validate and report environmental data for permitting and compliance.
  • Review and enhance plant documentation for clarity and accuracy.
  • Define and execute pressure safety design packages.
  • Scope and plan process and reliability improvement projects.
  • Support improvements to plant training programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in process measurement and applications in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical processes and OSHA PSM/EPA RMP requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead small groups and work independently.

Additional Details

  • Location: Onsite in Kansas City.
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8-hour days starting at 7:30 AM.
  • Dress Code: Casual; PPE provided (hard hat, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses).
  • Interview Process: Phone screen + 2 rounds of panel interviews.
