Associate Materials - GMP
SRG, the leader in the Life Sciences human capital industry, is looking for a Materials Associate to join our manufacturing team in Indianapolis, IN.
The Materials Associate is responsible for managing the receipt, transportation, and distribution of materials within the site. This role ensures efficient handling of GMP and non-GMP deliveries, maintains the cleanliness and organization of the shipping and receiving docks, and supports material handling within CORE 1 and CORE 2
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Shift: Night Shift 9:30pm-8am; Sun-Wed OR Wed-Sat
Contract: 6 months plus extension
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in materials handling, logistics, or warehouse operations is required. Experience with MRP and/or WMS enterprise systems is required
- Experience in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) is desired.
- Ability to operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and other material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication (written and oral) and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and transport materials as required; standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead repeated for 6-8 hours per day.
Responsibilities:
- Receive inbound deliveries from standard carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS).
- Coordinate with drivers and provide escort for non-standard deliveries.
- Unpack packages, breakdown boxes, and prepare items for GMP receipt.
- Scan packing lists and other relevant documentation into the ERP system.
- Maintain clean and organized shipping and receiving docks, including breaking down corrugated materials and disposing of waste.
- Transport equipment and materials between buildings using an on-site box truck. (CDL not required)
- Deliver requested items to the appropriate personnel or departments.
- Obtain site-specific training and operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) to transport pallets of materials and equipment.
- Assist and support Materials Management team on ongoing tasks and projects for operational readiness.
