🧪 Quality Engineer (Metrology & Materials Science) - Devens, MA

A fast-growing manufacturing startup is seeking a Quality Engineer with a strong background in materials science and hands-on metrology to support its expanding operations in Devens, MA. This is a 6-month, full-time onsite opportunity with immediate start potential.

📍 Location: On-site, 5 days/week in Devens, MA
📅 Start Date: ASAP
📆 Duration: 6 months
💼 Employment Type: Open to Green Card holders and U.S. Citizens only
🧑‍💻 Interview Process: Virtual interviews with the hiring manager (availability Tuesdays 8-10 AM or after 4:30 PM)


🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead GRR studies and qualification activities.
  • Develop and execute test methods (e.g., tensile, powder, chemistry testing).
  • Write and maintain work instructions for manufacturing and testing.
  • Investigate and disposition nonconformances.
  • Recommend facility improvements aligned with OSHA, ISPE, or FDA guidelines.
  • Document work thoroughly and accurately using quality systems.
  • Escort and supervise contractors during inspections or repairs.
  • Support installation and movement of major lab equipment.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or metrology.
  • Hands-on experience with metrological tools and test execution.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or ISO 13485 standards.
  • Proficiency in GD&T, SPC, and CAPA methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in medical device or precision manufacturing environments.
