SRG, the leader in the Life Sciences human capital industry, is looking for a contract Utilities/Facilities Engineer in Bothell, WA.

Facilities Engineer - Summary


Role Purpose:
Support maintenance and reliability engineering for Our Client's QC Laboratories, Manufacturing Facility, and GMP Warehouse. Ensure efficient operation and upkeep of utilities, buildings, and equipment to deliver medicines reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Always adhere to safety protocols.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • HVAC systems design, operation, and maintenance
    • Air compressors, pumps, chillers, water systems, electrical equipment, generators, fire systems
    • Automation systems and VFDs
  • Systems Management:
    • Use CMMS (e.g., BMRAM) to manage work orders
    • Develop and execute preventive and corrective maintenance plans
    • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures using root cause analysis
  • Project & Vendor Coordination:
    • Lead site shutdowns and small utility projects
    • Manage contractors and vendors
    • Support capital projects including equipment installation and commissioning
  • Compliance & Improvement:
    • Own CAPAs, deviations, and change controls
    • Recommend facility upgrades to meet OSHA, ISPE, and FDA standards
    • Drive improvement in facility and utility KPIs
  • Training & Conduct:
    • Attend required training
    • Follow Our Client's Code of Conduct

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • GMP experience
  • Understanding of HVAC, compressors, pumps, chillers, water systems and other electrical systems
  • Owning CAPAs, change controls, deviations
  • 2+ years experience minimum within utilities engineering
  • Bachelor's in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years industrial experience (GMP biotech/biopharma preferred)
  • Strong communication, planning, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage small capital projects (<$75K)
  • Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Customer service orientation
