SRG, the leader in the Life Sciences human capital industry, is looking for a Global Publications Lead (Oncology/Cardiovascular) to join our client's pharmaceutical medical affairs team onsite (hybrid) in Whippany, NJ.

The primary purpose of this role is to develop and execute an early publications strategy based on data driven scientific themes that will ensure comprehensive dissemination of the preclinical and clinical data to medical, scientific professionals and patients involved in the development, utilization, and incorporation of the product in the global research and commercialization settings. This position leads to the cross-functional development of the publication's strategies/scientific themes and execution of the tactical publications plans to contribute to the successful development of cardiovascular and oncology early assets.

*W2 contract only, no C2C

*HYBRID, onsite 1-2 days per week (local candidates only)


MUST HAVES:

  • Advanced degrees of PhD, MD, PharmD or MS in a scientific/medical discipline or equivalent
  • At least 5 years' Scientific Publications experience which must include pharmaceutical/biotech experience
  • Disease and therapeutic knowledge in oncology is preferred, or the proven ability to quickly learn a new scientific discipline and apply knowledge in interpreting data and developing publications
  • Proven ability to think strategically and work cross functionally to develop strategies that enhance the value of the publications through effective communication of the scientific and clinical data working with Global research and development, and through integrated communications themes working with Global Departments in health economics, market research, commercial, and market access
  • Knowledge of the drug development process and its application to the strategic publication planning process
  • Knowledge of Global roles within the pharmaceutical industry, and the ability to work effectively in a Global organization with key markets and with external partners
  • Strong scientific writing and editing skills and knowledge of journal requirements and Congress guidelines for publications development and submission
  • Thorough knowledge of Good Publication Practices, and proven ability to work effectively within these guidelines to ensure that all authors and vendors comply

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development of the early strategic publications plans as well as the execution of the tactical publications plans for cardiovascular and oncology pipeline.
  • Review and interpret product data from preclinical, clinical development, real world evidence, statistics and health economics departments with internal and external investigators to determine appropriate publications for inclusion in tactical publications plans
  • Manage, review and edit congress abstract and oral and poster presentations, primary and secondary manuscripts, and slide presentations development by vendors and external investigators
  • Represent the Publications team in R&D team, Global Medical and Evidence Team, Global Development Team, and Global Commercialization Team, presenting the Strategic and Tactical Publications initiatives
  • Participate in the planning, development and implementation of global workshops, advisory boards and other stand-alone scientific programs that generate information
  • Actively participate in medical congresses and events as part of the medical team when required
  • Plan and manage timelines, budget and manpower against the global communication plans and approved resources
