This is a sample management position
Job Overview
We are looking for a Research Associate to join our Analytical Development team. This individual will report to a Sr. Manager and will be responsible for managing starting materials, in-process samples, and final products receiving from various departments, assisting cell culture/cell banking/cryopreservation, and laboratory data management.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Cryopreserve cell therapy samples from clinical trials and development programs;
• Support sample management for routine in-process testing;
• Perform data documentation in ELN to capture sample processing procedure and sample parameters;
• Perform cell count data analysis for cell samples;
• Perform general lab activities such as formulating media, culturing cells, passaging cells, calculating quantities of reagents, performing cell counting, and receiving and organizing samples;
• Provide training to people on sample and inventory management system;
• Develop SOP and work instructions for sample management activities;
• Other duties as assigned;
• Occasional weekend support will be required.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field required with 2+ years of experience in a similar role in a laboratory;
• Experience with aseptic technic as well as primary and mammalian cell culture
• Prior biological sample management experience is a plus;
• Ability to follow laboratory procedures with attention to detail and successfully execute experiments at the bench;
• Has a basic understanding of sample collection, processing protocols, and shipping conditions
• Maintains inventory across multiple critical equipment temperature-controlled units
• Understands GxP requirements;
• Ability to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills;
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities;
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description;
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
• Previous customer service experience is a plus;
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is essential, and knowledge in statistical programming languages such as R and Python is a plus.
