As a Senior Analyst/manager level, this position reports to an Associate Director in the Strategic Planning and Analytics, Addiction Science team. The ideal person will have demonstrated success and proficiency in strategic and analytical based commercial business planning, market analysis, communications, and problem solving. This position will support and partner with the addiction science team of Market Access, Key Accounts, Finance and Channel as well as, when appropriate, the sales team. This role also involves lifecycle planning, midterm and long-term strategic planning, along with commercial development of pipeline assets. As this is a strategic planning and commercial role, it will involve applying structured problem-solving approaches to key business challenges that will involve financial analysis, developing data driven assumptions, data analysis, forecasting, and modeling. Ability to filter and synthesize information to identify the most significant, high value strategic insights and business drivers supported through an analytical process is expected. This integral team member will be able to effectively orchestrate the collection, analysis and synthesis of market research, data and strategic insights to develop clear, evidence-based business plans, valuations and executive level recommendations that will drive decisions.
We are seeking a talent that possesses strong, consultative skills in problem solving, market assessment and commercial planning. Candidates must show demonstrated ability to synthesize information, concepts and recommendations into clear, executive level communications with a strong commercial focus.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
§ In collaboration with the Associate Director, business analytics,
§ Develop operational platform and models for Business Intelligence and Strategic Planning in through close coordination with key stakeholders to answer key strategic questions that drive insight creation and deepen our understanding of business performance and planning – with emphasis on long term planning.
§ Finding and implementing key sources to help organization better understand disease area epidemiology
§ Collaborating with colleagues in Analytics, Commercial Development, Finance, Sales and Marketing to identify insights to inform and develop long term business planning, commercialization launch plans
§ Finding and implementing key secondary information in order to integrate disparate data into valuable insight
§ Ensure existing data is made available and fully leveraged to answer strategic questions
§ Utilizing unique methodologies and model building as appropriate
§ 2+ years of business plan development and market analysis experience pharmaceutical or pharmaceutical consulting experience required; progressive experience in relevant market or analytical roles preferred
§ Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or advanced degree in finance, marketing, economics, or other analytic oriented degrees preferred.
§ Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercialization strategies and pre-marketing approaches – experience with in-line product marketing or product launches beneficial
§ Confidence and experience to provide key recommendations to the leadership team to drive critical business decisions
§ Understanding of complex health systems desirable
§ Demonstrated ability to think strategically to support key business decisions
Analysis and Research
§ Broad working knowledge of commonly used industry databases (pharmaceutical would be beneficial)
§ Experience in product planning and commercial understanding
§ Demonstrated analytical skills understands the advantages and limits of different analytical approaches and their findings
§ Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and communicating implications along with translation to most valuable insights
§ Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of stakeholders
§ Outstanding command of PowerPoint to deliver thoughtful, clear, concise, strategic, commercial oriented, influential, and analytic driven presentations
§ Due to the nature of information reviewed in the role, candidate must demonstrate a high level of discretion and confidentiality
§ High level of proficiency in business technology applications and concepts.
§ Ability to learn and manage multiple software packages with multiple data types.
§ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite skills. Expert ability in Excel to include pivot tables development. Other programming skill desirable
§ Strong sense of urgency and achievement

§ Solid background of a variety of forms of research / analysis
§ Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills; project management experience desired
