QC Laboratory Technician
Job Summary
The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a variety of analytical and microbiology functions under minimal supervision. These functions include:
• Analytical testing including various wet chemistry techniques, melting point analysis, FTIR, Karl Fisher, HPLC, and GC.
• Sample and perform microbial analysis on the Purified Water System.
• Perform Growth Promotion testing on media.
• Document all activities according to current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and internal SOPs.
Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of all laboratory supplies, including chemicals and consumables.
Essential Functions
Perform analytical testing on inactive and active ingredients, packaging components, and in-process products, finished products, and stability samples to ensure product is safe, effective, and meets established Eisai quality standards.
Perform sample collection and testing of purified water and microbial media.
Use a wide variety of sophisticated equipment with responsibility for operation, maintenance, and daily calibration check (if appropriate).
Prepare documentation of all laboratory work in accordance with cGMPs and SOPs, as appropriate.
Ensure all laboratory work is conducted in compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Maintain inventory of all laboratory chemicals and consumables.
Requirements
Bachelor’s in Chemistry/Microbiology or equivalent discipline, with appropriate experience (typically 1 – 3 years), OR Associate degree or High School Diploma with appropriate equivalent experience (typically 3 + years)
Knowledge and experience with analytical and microbiological techniques.
Knowledge of cGMPs and laboratory safety.
Experience working in a cGMP laboratory.
Experience with variety of instrumental and wet chemical methods, including FTIR, HPLC, and/or GC.
Experience with aseptic water collection and microbial testing.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
