Research Assistant - Cell Production
My client based in the Cambridgeshire area, works on the Development, Manufacture and Supply of Cell Products to a range of institutes. Such institutes can include academic researchers or industry based partners.
Currently they have a great opportunity to join their cell production team as a Research Assistant or Advanced Research Assistant, depending on experience level. Reporting into the Head of operations, you will be responsible for the reprogramming of human primary cells to induced pluripotent stem cells and their subsequent differentiation to company's primary products.
- Conduct daily cell culture tasks including the generation, expansion, maintenance and banking of cellular material
- Ensure all company products are produced to a high quality and remain consistent across each batch
- Provide input into the planning and organisation of the cell production laboratory to production
- Play a key role in process troubleshooting and improvements of SOPs where required
Ideal candidates will hold a degree or equivalent in a Life Sciences subject with proven experience of culturing primary cells and cell lines within an industry laboratory. Candidates must also have experience of maintaining & differentiating human stem cells (ideally induced pluripotent stem cells). Experience of cellular reprogramming would be a distinct advantage. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a busy team to meet deadlines, a highly organised approach and strong communication skills.
