SRG are seeking a Research Associate to join a global Pharmaceutical Company based in Cambridge. The successful candidate will join the Device Development Sciences Team and will work within multi-disciplinary teams of both Scientists and Engineers that work on drug delivery device development / testing.


  • Carries out hands-on testing and analysis of novel drug delivery devices, components and primary containers (syringes and cartridges). The work will involve detailed hands-on testing of prototype drug delivery devices as well as the recording of data in accordance with SOPs and the analysis of that data.
  • Responsible for a wide variety of laboratory tasks including developing test methods, experimental plans and trouble-shooting as needed.
  • Operating laboratory equipment according to SOPs, Manuals, Methods and Risk assessments etc.
  • Ensures familiarity with all appropriate documentation (SOPs, instruction manuals, risk assessments, etc.) so that all appropriate experimental/manufacturing related activities are conducted in accordance with approved safe working practices (ensuring use of PPE where appropriate) and GMP/GLP procedures.
  • Maintains accurate records of results, analysis, and interpretation of experimental data in laboratory notebooks in a timely manner and according to accepted good practices.

Education and Experience:

  • Degree, HND or equivalent in relevant Science or engineering subject.
  • Experience of working in teams in the development or trouble shooting of drug delivery devices, analytical methodology or manufacturing processes by means of designed experiments and logical problem solving.
  • Experience of mechanical engineering equipment and methodology.
  • Familiar with Medical device or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Trained in GLP/GMP or ISO 13485 and laboratory safety
  • Logical and intuitive thinker
  • Able to communicate with others outside team/group.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Flexible and resilient.
  • Shows initiative and has ability to think for self.
  • Strives for quality and excellence in own work and others
