Chemical Process Operative required, based in Greater Manchester. Non-lab based role, working on plant in chemical processing. Company willing to hire a Chemistry graduate to train from scratch. Experienced Chemical Operatives will also be considered. Requiring a good work ethic and willingness to learn.

Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 per annum
SRG is working with a successful manufacturer of hygiene chemicals, who are growing steadily and looking to expand the site in the near future. They are now looking to hire a Chemical Process Operative to join the production team on the plant floor, where you will be given full training in large scale chemical blending, charging chemicals into reactors and obtaining samples to provide to QC. The role is not lab-based but would be an excellent introduction into the chemical industry and good experience of real-world chemical manufacturing. Applications from Chemistry graduates are encouraged as well as experienced chemical operators.

Role / Description
- Manual chemical blending into tank/IBCs
- Following batch production instructions for blending
- Correct weighing of raw materials through accurate meter and instrument reading
- Supplying batch samples to the QC Lab to obtain batch release
- Packing chemicals into various containers and IBCs
- Reporting production issues to senior staff as required
- Degree in Chemistry (or similar) and interest in chemical manufacturing
- Previous experience of processing chemicals in a manufacturing environment
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and good health & safety awareness
