Medical Affairs Operations Manager Rate: Negotiable Job Type: Temporary Location: Berkshire
I am currently working with a Global Pharmaceutical Organization who are seeking a Medical Affairs Operations Manager to join the existing Medical Affairs team in their headquarters in Berkshire on a contract basis. This role will be ideal for a Life Sciences graduate with prior pharmaceutical industry experience (ideally within Medical Affairs) and strong knowledge of relevant industry codes and regulations.
The Medical Affairs Operations Manager provides operational support in the delivery of regional Medical Affairs (MA) programs and projects which will include: medical education programs, scientific advisory boards and scientific symposia at regional congresses amongst others.
This individual will ensure accurate tracking of project performance for existing and newly created contracts and budgets. This individual will apply project management best practices in the initiation, planning, execution, maintenance, and closing of projects.
The Operations Manager will also highlight risks, timeline delays and other issues. This individual manages Regional MA Head travel and expenses as well as MA and cross-functional business meetings, produces agendas and minutes. This role requires a team player with well-developed skills for gaining the cooperation of others and ensuring effective communication among team members.
This role will also entail involvement in ensuring the Regional MA team are compliant according GxP and applicable Codes of Practice. This will include creation and approval of SOPs to line up with new and existing policies and procedures and collaborating with relevant colleagues to ensure tracking & reporting of transfer of value during external HCP engagement activities by the EU MA team.
It is essential that all applicants have prior experience within Pharmaceutical industry (and within Medical Affairs ideally) Additional skills/experience required:
- Bachelor's degree
- Expert proficiency within office procedures & software (incl. MS Office - Word, Excel et al)
- Working knowledge of industry codes & regulations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Adept at using Teleconference, WebEx, SharePoint systems/apps
