Organise Pipette Calibrations and repairs including decontamination (every 6 months)CapEx (e.g. acquiring quotes, support relevant paperwork, liaising with lab manager & users regarding equipment moves)Attend Lab Rep Meetings and communicate key information to lab users (monthly)Organization and communication of the Cleaning Rota to the lab usersOrganizing general lab cleaning (every 6 months)Decontaminating Equipment for engineer visitsOrganizing engineer visits for routine tests (e.g. LEV test for hoods every 6 months) or unexpected failuresImplement waste streams (constantly evolving to match the requirements for the DISC)Blood Lab Stocks/Shortages communication to scientists and co-ordination with lab support staffMain point of contact between Avantor and AZHelp with DISC moving (e.g. attending regular weekly meeting, logging equipment)Risk Assessments (RAs) (all relevant paperwork)Empty tip boxes for recycling (CL1/CL2 labs)Organize and defrost -80 and -20 freezersAllocate RT/fridge/freezer space for new comersPoint of contact for every problem that occurs in the labPoint of contact for out of hours emergency equipment breakdownsSHE Rep (e.g. attending meetings, communicating to lab users SHE decisions and vice versa communicating possible issues raised by lab users to SHE)HBS RepMeetings with GPLT and RSG, representing the group, coordinating trainings etc.


Minimum life-science based degree, masters in a relevant subject area (e.g. biology, immunology) desirable but not essentialHands-on laboratory work experience, within a research, academia, contract testing, or biopharmaceutical setting, ideally 10 years' experienceThe ability to multi-task, with excellent time management skills.Strong history of collaboration with excellent organization, record keeping, and oral/written communication skills.Ability to prioritise workload in order to work to tight timelines.Pro-active team member, demonstrating high levels of initiative & self-motivation.Strong capacity at resolving problems within their group.Demonstrated ability to engage others as appropriate in problem solving.Excellent English is required, with both strong verbal and written communication skills
