Job Title: Material Characterisation ScientistPay Rate: PAYE - £15 per hour - £21 per hour / Umbrella - £17 per hour - £23.50 per hourContract: 18 monthsLocation: Sandwich, KentWorking Hours: 37 hours pwThe Materials Characterisation Team based within the Global Supply Technology and Engineering department are looking for a scientist to support the understanding of the impact of material properties on manufacturing performance. Through the application of advanced characterisation methods, primarily the solid-state attributes of a material, scientific understanding can be brought to product teams in both reactive troubleshooting and proactive source change investigations.Key Responsibilities:* Determination of physical attributes for API's/excipient's using a range of characterisation techniques, including microscopy and both image and laser diffraction particle size.* Determination of solid-state attributes for API's/excipient's using a range of characterisation and thermodynamic techniques., including DSC, TGA and various spectroscopic methods.* Optimization of tests to describe key API/excipient's attributes, and how these relate to DP performance, which includes methods to assess flow, compression and segregation properties.* Evaluating, interpreting and reporting of results through presentations and technical reports, particularly translation of scientific output and technical content into a language understood by wide customer base.Requirements:* Practical experience in the application of material characterisation methods to evaluate pharmaceutical materials. * Experience in designing, following and reviewing protocols, scientific methods, and departmental procedures.* Evidence of good laboratory and experimental skills. * Ability to independently design and carry out experiments.* Understanding of statistical and chemo metric approaches for data analysis and interpretation.If this role is of interest to you, (or you know anyone who might be suitable), please email your CV to Tom O'Neill at tom.oneill@srgtalent.com and a time that is convenient for me to call you.
