We are working with a world-renowned technology innovation centre that works closely with academia, industry, and the government to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and commercialisation. There is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Scientist in Nanotherapeutics and Nanoparticle Drug Delivery Systems to join an established team to help deliver a range of innovation projects.

The successful candidate will act as the technical lead on small and medium projects within the area of preventative and therapeutic drug delivery, from novel vaccines to advanced oncology treatments. The role will involve providing non-solid dose pharmaceutical formulation expertise to deliver on a range of projects, using academic or industry-based knowledge to solve complex technical challenges.

The main duties and responsibilities will include:

• To set up, plan and execute experimental / pilot scale runs and analyse, interpret and report the results of these.
• To contribute expert knowledge and act as technical lead on small and medium projects.
• Planning and executing experimental work, including relevant measurement and analysis techniques to characterise properties relevant to colloidal and pharmacological performance.

Role requirements:

• Educated to PhD level (or equivalent) in a Scientific/Engineering discipline with some industrial experience in pharmaceuticals or medical devices.
• Technical expertise in Nanotherapeutic Drug Delivery Systems. This must include understanding the mechanisms of drug delivery systems (ideally with vaccines), understand the mechanisms of the encapsulation process, scattering, TEM and utilising polymeric nanoparticles.
• Will have substantial laboratory experience in using common laboratory equipment for creating liquid-based formulations and measuring colloidal properties.
