HR Manager - Biotech start-up

£50-60k per annum depending on skills, experience and background
This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven self-starter with a varied HR and Recruitment background, to guide the strategy and direction for all HR and hiring activities around culture, performance and development within a start-up biotech organisation based in Cambridge.
Role requirements:
- Leading the evolution of the company strategy to build a broad and high-performance culture through the approach to talent acquisition and performance matrices
- Provide subject matter expertise around HR practice to support the SLT and guide decision-making around leadership strategy
- Oversee development and implementation of robust HR polices and protocols, bringing both existing, new and potential staff on the recruitment and retention lifecycle
- Onboarding new starters - including providing compliant employment contracts, conducting pre-employment checks, company and HR process inductions
- Development of a defined career path programme and L&D programme
- Development of a performance management programme and agreed performance matrices
- Development of an R&R package commensurate with the biotech start-up setting
- Management of HRIS, building-in Financial and Legal reporting functionality
- Coordination with and relationship management with external recruitment partners
- Management of data privacy process, internal communication around HR process and employee relations
Who you are and what you will bring:
- Proven experience as an HR Manager/HRBP, in an agile and regulated environment (STEM sectors preferred)
- Associate or Chartered CIPD or a graduate in Human Resources or a closely related subject
- Strong working knowledge of employment regulations and HR best practice
- Background working in a start-up environment, developing strategy and implementing new policies and practices
- Able to project manage effectively, with robust time management skills and ability to work to deadlines within a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Collaborative by nature with exemplary communication skills and high emotional intelligence
