Sensory Panel Technician

SRG are a strategic recruitment partner to a British multinational company who are looking for a Sensory Panel Technician to join the team in Southampton.
Role purpose:
The sensory Panel Technician role focusses on the day-to-day project management and execution of Trained Sensory and Opinion panel projects and partnering with the Panel Leader to provide continuous development and training of the panels with leadership ensuring the panel delivers accurate and meaningful data. This role requires leadership and sensory interaction specifically with the Sensory and technical community at a local site level.
Accountabilities:
- Executing sensory testing protocols under guidance of the panel leader with adherence to scientific test methods (training will be provided) to collect unbiased data.
- Assist with panel training (reference identification, gaining group consensus, developing thorough ballot).
- Preparation of test samples in accordance with Good Sensory Practices.
- Liaising with the Sensory lead and project team to understand preparation, coding and blinding, cross charging summaries.
- Organizing and maintaining project files that can be easily accessed by entire global team for current and historical projects.
- Data gathering and reporting of Trained Panel and Opinion panel studies.
Requirements:
- Degree in food science/science/technology or related discipline.
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Basic understanding of sensory methods desirable.
- Proven experience in managing timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and well-developed communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally but not essential, specialist sensory software (Compusense).
- Competence in management of staff and resource utilisation essential.
12 months fix term contact (possibility of extension)
£23k per annum (depending on experience)
37,5h per week
