Finance Accounts Assistant 12 month contract Maidenhead - Hybrid working Competitive day rate

The role:

We are partnered with a global pharmaceutical company who are searching for a Finance Accounts Assistant to join their team on a 12-month contract. The Finance Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting UK finance in an administrative capacity whilst also gaining experience to fundamental monitoring and compliance activities across Financial Controlling. The role is varied, touching a wide remit of key finance areas, allowing the individual to have a broad overview of the finance department in addition to interactions with other functions. The position would suit an individual with two to three years of experience looking to take the next step into a large Finance Department. We are looking for a proactive, organised and eager to learn candidate who is confident working independently and communicating with all levels of staff.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contracts Database implementation and management: support implementation of new contracts into database; be the primary finance contact for contract approval process.
  • Contract Expiration insights and analysis, enabling Finance/ Legal Directors and Procurement Manager to have critical oversight of business commitments.
  • Local Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Expense Monitoring - for aged transactions & sampling to ensure compliance to policy.
  • Supporting offshore Expenses Team by answering queries and providing guidance on employee expense claims.
  • OEC Monitoring - provide support to the OEC Manager by reviewing a sample on a quarterly basis employee expenses and other payments related to Healthcare Professionals to report to the Affiliate Compliance Insights Forum (ACIF).
  • Preparation and completion of the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) return to HMRC.
  • Calculating and providing the monthly Private Mileage deductions to BHR in a timely manner.
  • Medical Devices Management - being the key point of contact in Finance for vaporisers and pumps with outsourced providers, QA and Supply Chain. Ensuring that our device management is fully compliant with financial and operational policies.
  • Assist in annual inventory, device or fixed asset counts.
  • Responsible for processing and managing the GRC requests granting access to SAP.
  • Providing Administrative support to the UK Finance Director and wider UK Finance Department on an adhoc basis e.g. arranging department meetings, post management, banking cheques etc.

Experience and Skillset:

  • University Graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous Book-keeping or contracts management experience beneficial.
  • SAP experience advantageous.
  • Excellent computer skills particularly Microsoft Office - Excel, Powerpoint etc.
  • Previous experience of employee expenses and benefits would be beneficial.
  • Experience of working with end-users at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to build and develop good working relationships with Business peers.
