Job Title: Cell culture ScientistLocation: NewcastleEmployment Term: Permanent Salary: £22,000 - £28,000Benefits: 35 Hr week and flexible time availableSRG are working with a rapidly expanding biotechnology company focusing on providing high quality immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridisation to the market. The company has a real focus on culture and providing opportunities to develop and grow dependant on the personal goals of the employees.The roleTissue Culture* Growing tumour and primary cells* Provision of cultured cells according to the production plan.* Maintaining the tissue culture suites/laboratory and associated equipment* Purchasing and stock-keeping of reagents and consumables * (With) assistance, the maintenance of a costed model of service delivery.General laboratory support* Aliquoting of reagents - foetal calf serum, Pen/strep etc* Equipment validation* Day to day laboratory maintenance and laboratory COSHH/risk assessments as necessary* Removal of laboratory clinical waste* Processing and embedding samplesProduction* Completion of product including:o Constructing cell microarrayso Cutting sectionso Packing and labelling product o Managing pre-product stock levelsRequirementsEssential:* Tissue culture experience and exemplary aseptic technique.* Previous experience of working in teams * Problem solving and solution focused thinking* Agile working, being able to adapt to changeDesirable:* Experience working in a controlled environment, preferably to ISO 13485 standardIf you would like to apply for this position, please use the link provided.
