  • Temporary positions - £11 p/hour - Shift based, flexible working hours contract
  • Based in Central London

SRG are currently seeking a Clinical Equipment Assistant to join a Clinical Development Service. Through their specialised clinical trial platform, my client plays a key role in drug and vaccine development across a range of infectious and respiratory diseases. Their state of the art clinical and laboratory facilities are based in Central London.

The role will involve providing all the required technical support to enable the laboratory and Clinical Equipment function effectively whilst adhering to GCP, SOP's and health and safety guideline. You will also assist in the maintenance of the equipment operations by performing training, cleaning off all equipment, as instructed by the Senior Laboratory Administrator.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic clinical services such as general housekeeping, maintenance of equipment, looking after the Engineer when on site
  • Operate, clean, and decontaminate equipment, considered standard for example:
    • Freezers
    • ECG
    • Spirometer
    • Thermometers
    • Calibration Pumps
    • Defibrillators
    • Vitals Machine
  • Responsible for ensuring that all applicable SOP's and policies are adhered to.
  • Ensure all Equipment forms/folders are kept up to date, Scan all engineer reports.
  • To ensure the equipment is ready for use.
  • Compliance with Good Clinical Practice.
  • Establish regular communication with the department to ensure smooth running of clinic/laboratories and projects.
  • Follow all the applicable policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), study documentation and GCP and any other applicable guidelines
  • Work as a member of a team
  • Responsible for organising own time and resources in an optimal fashi0ona with some guidance
  • Perform administration task, for example Equipment forms and labels are up to date on all the equipment, document scanning, filing, and archiving.
  • Perform any other reasonable requested tasks to assist in the operational delivery of the clinics


  • GCSE or BTEC in a Science subject
  • Prior experience in working to GCP standards within a clinical/laboratory environment
  • Good understanding of Clinical equipment
  • To be able to work as a member of a team, responsible for organising own time and resources in an optimal fashion, with some guidance
  • Ability to work as part of a team and effective communication skills
  • Practical working knowledge of GCP standards
