Consultant Biochemist - Cambridge Permanent£ Competitive

Role profile:

Working in a truly multidisciplinary environment alongside experts in a wide range of sectors, this role will provide great opportunity to drive the development of novel assay design, validation of experiments, commercial progression, and plenty of client interaction. If you enjoy practising hands-on lab science but are looking for a chance to use your business acumen and client-facing skills, this could be an ideal next move for you.

Role requirements:

* Deliver projects from conception to launch, within a multidisciplinary team structure taking accountability for resources, budgets, operational support and milestone management.

* Interface between the engineering and system design, consumable operation and management of the project's technical direction.

* Working alongside other technical experts to uncover new commercial avenues, plan projects which balance the agile nature of the R&D setting, alongside the constraints of time and budget.

* Use your well-developed and up-to-date market knowledge to expand the business profile and interrogate opportunities for expansion of the biochemistry team.

* Creation and guidance of the projects to uncover novel technologies, DNA sequencing workflows, IVD'S, antibody screening and single-cell analysis.

Your background:

* This role is open to candidates who have recently completed a relevant PhD, through to experienced professionals in Biochemistry disciplines

* A balanced background in molecular and cellular science with strong analytical methodology

* Proven experience in the development of novel biochemistry techniques as proven by a background in experimental biochemistry and/or a compelling PhD in a related area.

* Hands-on and practical at the bench - able to map out an experimental process to quickly understand whether an idea will have legs.

* Exemplary communication skills, and able to work closely with experts in other areas (physics, mechanical engineering, chemistry, software, design).

* Familiar with ISO 13485 accreditation.

* Demonstrates desire to go after potential new avenues for the expansion of both your own knowledge, and opportunities for the business.
