Senior Scientist and Scientist - Biosensors

Highly competitive salary and benefits package - depending on skills, experience and backgroundScope of the roles(s)

Exciting opportunity to be part of something revolutionary in the development of biosensor technology for next generation sensor platforms. Working as part of a dynamic and agile multidisciplinary team, your responsibility is to optimise and experimentally validate the performance of a novel biosensor platform. Supporting with the product development process and, working closely with surface chemists and engineers, this opportunity is both broad and far-reaching in terms of exposure to the testing and eventual launch of a brand new era of protein-interaction technology. The role:

* Working closely in project teams with chemists and engineers, you will support and progress the design and validation of a novel sensor platform to improve specificity and stability

* Manage projects including resources, the team, timescales and collaborate with external partners

* Validation and verification studies which inform the approach to optimisation

* Work closely with the Discovery team to support with troubleshooting specific issues

* Support the product development team

* Continuously researching potential application areas as the platform progresses, and flagging possible opportunities for expansion of the platform functionality

Your background:

* PhD or equivalent in disciplines such as: Biochemistry, Electrochemistry, Biosensing, Bioelectrics or related.

* Sound proven experience f leading R&D projects (for the Senior level role)

* Demonstrable work in the field of electrochemical sensing techniques (potentiometry, amperometry, conductometry)

* Background in the construction, validation and verification of electrochemical biosensors

* MUST have a background working with the R&D of OECT's (organic electrochemical transistors), FET technology (ion selective) or similar

* It would be helpful to have used some bioinformatic software such as Python or R

* A curious and solutions-focused approach is essential to flourishing in this role and the wider business
