Electronics Engineer - Medical Device - CambridgeSRG are recruiting for an Electronics Engineer to jon a rapidly growning, ambitious start-up Biotechnology company in the Cambridge area. You will be required to develop the electronic engineering solutions for research and commercial development of our their platform, through the creation and management of electronic system architectures, overseeing and approval of PCB design. The system is run using a sophisticated, automated optical instrument.Your responsibilities will include;System development and testing+ Integrating, testing and designing the electronics control system for the instrument+ Creation and management of electronic system architectures, overseeing and approval of PCB design+ Designing and testing electronic drive systems for our optofluidic technology+ Devising and running validation and verification tests+ Integrating the electronic subsystems with the rest of the instrumentCollaboration and planning+ Work closely with external sub-contractors and outsource development partners+ Co-ordinate with the software team and the wider technical teams + Participate in team technical discussions and problem-solving exercises+ Contribute to technical meetings+ Contribute to work plans and test designs + Adherence to necessary Quality Assurance (QA) SystemsWe would expect you to have:+ A first-class or 2:1 degree in Physics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline+ A technical track record in electronics development for complex systems+ Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: + Digital and analogue design + Microcontroller systems + Power supply electronics + Signal processing + Instrument control electronics + Analogue to digital converters + Experience with PCB CAD layout systems such as Altium + Understanding of silicon device/PCB manufacturing + Ability to source components, PCBs and bespoke silicon devices + Knowledge of techniques for design for manufacture, assembly, test and maintenance + Ability to source suitable components and manufacturers and manage those outsourcing projects + Understanding of appropriate manufacturing processes+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a changing environment on complex projects+ Experience interacting with outsourced development partnersIt would be advantageous for you to have:+ Experience with MEMS devices or microfluidics+ A track record of working in a multidisciplinary environment+ Design of instruments and consumables for Life Sciences applications+ Experience in developing design history files to ISO standards including ISO9001 and IS013485 for CE-IVD and FDA requirements
