Job Title: Microbiology Research Assistant

Are you a Microbiology Research Scientist looking to work with a leading Medical Device Organisation?
We are working with a leader in the medical device industry who are eager to bring in an experienced Microbiology Research Scientist who will hit the ground running and provide scientific and technical support to the development of new products within the Research and Development team.
- Providing scientific and technical support to the development of new products, inclusive of method development, validation and testing within a design control framework.
- Planning, managing and executing microbiological activities for R&D projects as required; assess new pipeline opportunities and provide technical input to R&D projects.
- Actively supporting the maintenance of laboratory quality systems and GLP/GMP compliance procedures in line with ISO 13485 & ISO9001; supporting internal and external audits as required; Using auditing as a proactive tool for improvement in laboratory systems as well as compliance, and challenges existing laboratory practices where appropriate.
- Non Conformance and CAPA owner for laboratory and test issues; perform investigations and root cause analysis as required.
To be successful you will be educated to degree level in a science discipline, preferably in microbiology and have experience of working within a GXP environment and a controlled ISO 13485 & ISO 9001 laboratory quality system for a minimum of 4 years. They should also display advanced microbiological skills and experience in developing and validating complex microbiological test methods is essential. They should have a working knowledge and understanding of compliance with FDA and European regulations relating to Quality Systems (ISO 13485:2003, ISO 9001:2000, FDA 21 CFR part 820/part 11) and GMP Guidelines and Regulations; experience with FDA audits.
