Job Title: Microbiology Operations Manager Location: LiverpoolEmployment Term: Permanent Salary: £35,000 - £40,000SRG are working with an expanding Biotechnology company to bring on a Operations Lab Manager ideally with virology experience too to come and lead the operations of the lab including sales, team management, scientific support and the day to day operation of the labs, this role offers pre-arranged progression in an aggressively expanding business.The roleo To provide Management of the microbiological, virological science and support to the scientific testing and R&D teamso Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Laboratories (microbiology, cell culture, virology and R&D), and scientific teams to drive overall performance and meet KPIs and business Targets.o Provide operational leadership and project management.o R&D and laboratory operational support: procuring lab consumables, overseeing inventory, equipment maintenance, and actively supporting the continuous improvement of the R&D and scientific services capabilities.o Provide technical leadership and expertise across all areas of scientific, R&D and testing services.o Ensuring work is completed in compliance to ISO 17025, ISO 13485, UKAS17025 and Health & Safety standards.o Build and develop existing and new relationships with customers to increase efficiency and responsiveness in existing and planned operations.Skills* 2 years+ experience in a similar role within innovation, scientific support and R&D with a post graduate qualification in science (e.g. Microbiology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology etc)* Antimicrobial/disinfectant efficacy testing* Antibiofilm testing - understand and able to run biofilm models* Skills in cell culture and virology desirable* Understand requirements for ISO 17025, ISO13485, UKAS17025* Understanding of quality and using QMS* Commercial awareness, previous experience in sales is desirable
