We are currently working with a leading medical device organisation who are looking for an experienced Senior Scientist from a R&D Medical Device or a Pharmaceutical Laboratory Company to lead the physical testing team.

Job Title: Physical Testing Supervisor

We are currently working with a leading medical device organisation who are looking for an experienced Senior Scientist who will manage a team that are responsible for testing on new and existing medical devices and skin care products according to pre-determined protocols, SOPs, OCIs and TDs in support of new product development, product labelling and life cycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To strategically lead and manage the R&D and Sustaining Engineering physical testing programs and manage the NPD and SEG physical testing teams.
  • Supports software validation and troubleshoot issues as they occur in the physical testing and identify and address non-conformances.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to manufacturing sites; supports research and trouble-shooting activities, defines and executes strategies for method validations and transfer of methods when required.
  • Management of departmental budget and manage of external service providers and suppliers.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified to degree level (or equivalent qualification) in Chemistry or a closely related subject with hands on management experience in Medical Device/Pharmaceutical Industry within an R&D/product development role in a GLP/GMP environment.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of compliance with FDA and European regulations relating to Quality Systems (ISO13485:2016, ISO9001:2000, FDA 21 CFR part 820) and GMP Guidelines and Regulation.
  • Competent in advanced laboratory techniques e.g. use of an analytical balance, pipette, HPLC instrument, UV, ICP-MS, etc.
