Assay Development Lead - lateral flow immunoassay

West Cambridgeshire

Up to £45k per annum

Scope of role:

This is a newly created position for a growing organisation based in the west of Cambridgeshire, close to the Beds border. You will act as an integral and driving force behind the development, validation and optimisation of new lateral flow immunoassays for the diagnosis of various health conditions.

Key role requirements:

* Investigation of new technologies and lead the development of new lateral flow immunoassays

* Research, design, evaluation and feasibility studies for new materials, equipment and processes

* Line management of scientists and technicians in the team, as the business grows

* Data analysis and recording of result findings on the LIMS

* Creation of technical reports and specifications, maintenance of quality data and records

* Lead the validation and verification studies to assess and interrogate new assays

* Lead Product Transfer of the assays, as well as input of material into design file ensuring regulatory data is logged

* Prepare and methodically store the SOPs for the lab methods, protocols and instrumentations

* Prepare publication documents for journal submission

Your background:

* PhD in a related discipline

* Supervisory experience

* A proven and relevant background of working in a medical diagnostics/devices environment

* Proven skills in development of lateral flow immunoassays

* Proven background in conjugation of proteins on latex or gold nanoparticles

* Good understanding of ISO 13485 and regulatory requirements for medical device regulations/directive

* Passionate about medical technology and innovation, collaborative in your approach and committed to seeking a process through
