Job title: Lab TechnicianSalary: £20,000 per annumContract: 12 month Hours: Monday-Friday 9am - 5pmLocation: Abbots Park, RuncornJob Description We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join a Combination Products and Small Molecules Team within Abbots Park Site.In this role you will provide laboratory and project support for the development of new and existing drug delivery systems which constitute the medical device aspect of a drug-device combination product. This will include preparing validation documents, sample management, logistics and calibration/monitoring of equipment, performing and documenting laboratory sample preparation and testing in compliance with cGxP, HSE and Regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carrying out routine physical testing of drug delivery devices - mainly Sterile Barrier/Primary Packaging - in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory procedures.* Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks.* Assisting in equipment and test method validation activities, supervised by senior colleagues* Preparation of documentation reporting results of device performance - effective written and verbal communication is essential* Application of cGxP to laboratory experiments and systems. Testing will be carried out on concept prototypes, finished components/products and competitor samples.* Assistance with ordering and stock keeping of lab consumables & equipmentKnowledge, Skills & Abilities * Container Closure Integrity apparatus* Tensile/Compression/Torsional Force testing equipment* Microscopes/Optical CMM equipment* Balances* Vacuum/compressed air systems including controllers and pressure gauges* Good computer literacy is essential - Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques including ANOVA and Gage R&R using software JMP/Minitab would be beneficialQualifications

* Degree qualification in relevant Science and/or Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience. * Experience within an industry lab setting is essential, in testing of drug delivery devices is desirable.
