Role:
The logging of chemicals, consumables and pharmaceutical samples delivered to the laboratory for use and analysis and maintaining appropriate levels of laboratory consumables and other supplies.
Perform development and validation studies for analytical methods in the QC laboratory.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the maintenance and calibration of a wide range of laboratory instruments.
Follow standard operating procedures for the analysis of pharmaceutical samples and intermediates using the range of laboratory instruments listed above and the associated report generation.
Ensure that equipment, facilities and materials used in the QC laboratories comply with defined standards.
Identify areas for continuous improvement.
Assist in monitoring and maintaining calibration status of all equipment within the Quality Control department.
To notify senior staff, as appropriate and in accordance with SOPs, of all problems encountered, including out of specification results, equipment malfunction and any health and safety issues.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 GCSE grades A-C including Maths, English and a science subject.
Experience of using the following equipment: pipettes; micro-balances; Karl-Fischer titration; Ion/pH meters; FT-IR, GC-FID, GC-MS.
QC testing experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector, including assay validation.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Be capable of a high degree of accuracy, precision and attention to detail.
