Role scope:
You will play a key part in the multidisciplinary team of scientists, ensuring the quality of the chemical and biological components and managing the relationship between the team of R&D scientists and manufacturing partners. You will manage the scale up and delivery of enzymes for production, and bioassays for quality control. Core duties and responsibilities:
* Develop, implement and document quality control assays and for enzyme formulations for validation of instruments
* Design and optimise enzyme formulations to achieve commercial stability levels
* Use of classic molecular biology techniques for nucleic acid manipulation and analysis including PCR, q-PCR, detection, purification and quantification
* Contribution to the system design of a first product, along with the planning and delivery of a programme of experimental works for characterisation and optimisation of performance
* Development of functional enzyme assaysPerson Specification:
* Educated to PhD or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering or related to Biosciences
* Background in development and implementation of quality control assays for enzyme formulations
* Strong proficiency in molecular biology and analytical methods of nucleic acid manipulation (ie - PCR, q-PCR)
* Proven experience in a product development setting working with requirements definition, analysis, integration and verification/validation
* Hands-on experience with DNA assays in microfluidic environments, sequencing technologies and DNA microarrays
* Experience working with lyophilisation as applied to enzymes and any appreciation of oligonucleotides and DNA synthesisSound like your new job?
