Role scope:

This role has been created to support a busy team of Scientists with the day to day running of the laboratory, including evaluation of RT-PCR assays - both classic and novel.

Key role requirements;

  • Evaluation and analysis of RT-PCR assays and platforms

  • Working with both standard and unique technologies, working in a multidisciplinary manner to deliver performance data and support product development activities

  • Supporting the readiness to launch of a new product, assessing the assay's suitability for purpose and supporting validation studies necessary for regulatory approval

  • Administrative and data generation including presentation of data for project meetings

  • Ensure key consumables and reagents are in good supply, prepare reagents and ready the lab for experimental tasks

Your background:

  • BSc or equivalent in Biology-based discipline or similar

  • Proven background of working in a laboratory ideally developing IVD's to ISO 13485 standard

  • Good demonstrable experience of working with PCR / RT-PCR

  • Accustomed to collaborating across disciplines

  • Exemplary organisation and planning skills, able to prioritise and work independently with a strong team ethos

  • Any experience or knowledge of working with integrated biological systems or microfluidics would be helpful, though not essential
