Lab Analyst - Junior

Rate: £20.16p/h PAYE (inclusive of a shift uplift) - Immediate start

Contract: 3 month initial contract, possibility of extension

Location: Royston, South of Cambridge

Are you a graduate with experience working with and following procedures and SOP's? Do you want to work in a manufacturing or laboratory environment for a reputable global leader in sustainable technology?

I have an unmissable opportunity available in the clean air sector based in Royston.

You will need to be able to work shift patterns and ideally have your own transport.

The role:

  • Carry out analysis of raw material, washcoats, impregnation solutions and finished catalysis
  • Sample preparation for chemical and physical measurements
  • Use of sample preparation and instrumental techniques such as: ICP-OES and X-ray Fluorescence
  • Write clear and concise procedures within the QC laboratories
  • Preparation of ICP calibration standards
  • Promote, establish and maintain collaborative approach and communication with employees across the plant
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Take on and carry out other appropriate duties whenever reasonably instructed.

The person:

Required:

  • Good working knowledge of analytical instrumental techniques used within the QC Labs.
  • Works in accordance with SOPs and rules.

Desired:

  • B-Tech certificate or B.Sc professional qualification in chemistry or educated to "A" level standard with at least two years' experience within a chemical industry.
  • A detailed understanding of general wet chemical techniques for inorganic analysis.
  • Awareness of ISO/IEC 17025 and IATF 16949 quality standards.

Working Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm for the first 2 months to undergo training.

Then will operate on a 3 on 3 off and 2 on 2 off shift pattern of days and nights:

12 hour shifts, 6:30 - 6:30.
