Buyer / Planner

Title: Buyer / Planner

Location: Liverpool

Salary: circa £30,000

SRG is working with a food manufacturer to source a Buyer / Planner. This is an integral role to the manufacturing process and as Buyer / Planner you will hold responsibility for managing a value stream, ensuring the source of materials and planning it through production and meeting customer demands.

Role description:

• Manage the daily production schedule based on customer orders, availability of materials and manufacturing capacity

• Coordinate the different business areas to solve any issues impacting production schedules

• Support Root Cause Analysis and implement sustaining corrective actions to improve turnaround times

• Liaise with customer service representatives to manage demand and forecasts

• Negotiation of raw materials costs
• Managing contract tender process for raw material supply
• Review plans with Plant Managers to ensure asset utilisation
• Own and deliver continuous improvement initiatives through cost savings and new/enhanced ways of working

Requirements:

• Experience of purchasing/supply planning

• Experience within the manufacturing industries - food/FMCG/packaging

• Excellent communication and relationship building skills

• Good proficiency with MS Excel
