The Flu Manufacturing Science and Technology group is a multi-disciplinary scientific function providing expertise in Virology, Process Development and Analytical Development responsible for generating and characterising virus vaccines. In addition, the team conducts and participates in research programmes collaborating with other research projects internally and externally.

This exciting position will be 90% laboratory based, working under the supervision of experts in the field of virus vaccine development.

Role Responsibilities:

• Work under guidance and supervision to support the development of manufacturing techniques to support vaccine manufacture: downstream purification techniques such as clarification, sterile filtration, tangential flow filtration, diafiltration and ultracentrifugation in a time sensitive environment
• Participate in maintaining laboratory housekeeping, stock control and reordering materials or consumables
• Performance of routine operations and non-routine development activities for projects or investigational work are conducted in a timely and compliant manner

Key Skills Required:

• MSc in Virology or Immunology is essential or a similar field

• Strong ability to Multi-task, work well as a team with good organisation, record keeping and communication skills
• Good experimental design and statistical analysis skills desirable.
